Thai Lantern Making with Thai Arts

2pm – 4pm

Saturday 22nd June

Cost £25

Materials included.

In this afternoon workshop, Thai Arts bring the fun-filled skill of lantern making!

They tell us, that during the time of the ancient Lanna kingdom, Yi Peng was an important event with lanterns which were used to represent the transition from the darker days of the rainy season to the lighter days of the cool season.

In this workshop, you will enjoy creating gorgeous handmade lanterns using bamboo, cling film and tissue paper, with your designs being traditional or modern in fashion, whichever takes your fancy.

Lanterns can be lit up from the inside to create a magical scene; the vibrancy bringing a lovely glow to any event, from festivals to family gatherings alike.
