STRICTLY 18+ - BYO

Solar Grove is the brand new contemporary Irish music project founded by Dublin based and renowned tin whistle player and composer Kevin Meehan. The four piece band features Ian Kinsella of Saltaire and De Dannan on guitar, Dónall Donnelly of Tremolo on fiddle, Fergal McArdle on concertina and Kevin Meehan of Dockland Collective on bodhrán.

The group play a mix of brand new compositions written by Kevin Meehan which were inspired by sunny days spent at Santry park and woods over the years, which feature several rows of magnificent, old red wood trees. Santry Demesne public park is located on the site of what was once a palatial old house and gardens, built in 1703, this park is theme of the band’s music and was the origin for the band name ‘Solar Grove’

As part of the live set Solar Grove also play exciting Scottish tunes alongside material from Kevin’s album Spanish Point which receives regular national radio play on RTÉ 1 and was described by the Irish Music Magazine as an “Exquisite collaboration of sound’. Solar Grove performed their debut gig in May 2025 to a full house audience at Howth Trad Fest in Dublin and are now ready to share new music with the world.

Swilkie, the new album from Highlands-based songwriter Iona Lane, weaves ecology, conservation, islands and folklore into poetic songs and contemplative melodies. Written during three residencies on the Isle of Eigg, Isle of Mull and Sanday in Orkney, sense of place and landscape are at the core of these songs. From basking sharks to lighthouses, lichen to vanishing islands, curlews to tree planting; the album was recorded in a boathouse on the West Coast of Scotland and the eager listener may even hear the lapping sound of the tide murmuring through the album. Iona’s connection to places by the sea is translated through these songs with evolving vocal melodies, subtle guitar and droning shruti box.

Iona's debut album, Hallival, charted at #36 in the Official Folk Album Charts and was named by Folk Radio UK as #27 in their Top Albums of 2022. The album received widespread press including in The Guardian, Walk Highlands, BBC Radio 2 and The Scotsman to name a few.
