FLEADH FRINGE IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!
The Duncairn is delighted to be delivering a Citywide Fringe Programme as part of Fleadh Cheoil 2026. With music, poetry, theatre, film, visual arts & family fun events across North, East, South and West Belfast, we’re bringing the magic of the Fleadh to all parts of the city, with a Duncairn flavour!
The Fringe programme runs from July 17th - August 23rd, and 100+ fringe events are planned for north, south, east and west Belfast to animate spaces and engage with communities before, during and after the Fleadh. Collaborating with more than 300 artists and 60 organisations, neighbourhood-based fringe activities will deliver a programme of music, poetry, drama, visual arts and community events.
WHY FRINGE?
The Fleadh fringe encourages locals and visitors to explore parts of the city they are less familiar with - to Take the First Step! The Fleadh Fringe aims to inspire and cultivate curiosity, creativity and community. There are many free events and all concert tickets are capped at £8 to ensure accessibility and encourage exploring the city!
Highlights include The Waterworks Stations sessions - a series of performances animating the Waterworks with pop-up music, storytelling and poetry stations around the lake, inspired by the park’s dramatic Cave Hill backdrop. Community events will take place in regenerated alleyways across south Belfast, inviting you to enjoy time together with céilís and community meals. Anaka Women’s Collective will host a family fun day and there will be family friendly Céilí at The Commons.
In the east of the city, storyteller and Happy Out Coffee co-founder, Alex Campbell will celebrate Irish oral traditions with tales of ancient heroes over coffee, while Colin Glen Forest Park will be the venue for a guided folklore walk to discover the hidden stories behind the city’s native trees and plants.
SUPER SUNDAY SESSIONS: ALL ACROSS THE CITY!
Our most loved event by the community is traveling to new centres and commmunities. Everyone is invited to come along for free arts & crafts workshops for kids and live music. As always, admission is free, open to all ages and people from all backgrounds. We had our very first Super Sunday Session last weekend in Skainos, East Belfast and it was a huge success!
