YOUNG TRAD MUSICIANS: OPEN CALL for Cruinniú na nÓg 2025

YOUNG TRAD MUSICIANS: OPEN CALL for Cruinniú na nÓg 2025

The Duncairn and Levis’ Cornerhouse Ballydehob are joining forces once again to support music, art and creativity for young people at two ends of the island! With the support of Creative Communities and Cork County Council, we are running a joint project for this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg – a national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18 – on June 7th.

The Duncairn will host traditional music workshops and Levis’ will host folk music, poetry and spoken word workshops. This is the first step in a project that will forge lasting friendships and inspire young musicians and artists to continue collaborating long into the future.

WHAT?

You will take part in 3 workshops with three Belfast-based musicians and this year’s TG4 Gradam Cheoil bursary 2025 recipients - Erin-Rose Ní Mhaoláin (fiddle) , Oisín Murphy (banjo/mandolin) and Jude Scott (flute). Along with the Duncairn Trad Collective, guest mentors and musicians, they will lead the workshops throughout May/June.

WHEN?

Workshop 1: May 22nd 4-6PM Welcome session

Workshop 2: May 28th 4-6PM Composition

Workshop 3: June 6th 4-6PM Live performance

The Cruinniú na nÓg concert will take place in the Duncairn on June 7th.
