So Say So: The Hills are Alive!

So Say So is a monthly event focusing on poetry, storytelling and music hosted by poet Stephen James Smith  in the Wexford Arts Centre . Each month a renowned national (or international) poet headlines and is accompanied by local musicians Cillian and Lorcan Byrne of *Basciville in a never before seen collaboration. At each event there is also a 5-Word-Challenge open mic section, which is open to all. This will be the first So Say So to take place in Belfast, come join us for an inspiring night of spoken word, poetry, music and new collaborations!

Cal O Reilly

Cal O’Reilly is a writer from Wexford, studying at Queen’s University Belfast. His work appears, or is forthcoming, in MagmaBansheeFruitslicefourteen poemsCatflap, and Beginnings Over and Over: Four New Poets from Ireland (Dedalus Press). He was selected for the Poetry Ireland Introductions Series, and is currently working on his first pamphlet

Zara Meadows

Zara Meadows is a writer from the Greater Shankill in Belfast. Their first pamphlet, The End of Art, was published by fourteen poems this year, and their work has appeared in Poetry London, The Stinging Fly, Banshee, bath magg, and Catflap. They are currently on the MA in Poetry at the Seamus Heaney Centre.

So Say So is part of “The Hills are Alive” - a collaboration between The Duncairn and Wexford Arts Centre to cultivate creative connections between Wexford and Belfast, made possible with the support of the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport’s Co Operation Northern Ireland Scheme.
