LAURA WILKIE + INNES WHITE
Laura Jane Wilkie is a Fiddle player from Tain in the Highlands of Scotland. She has a unique style which has roots in Highland fiddle traditions but is influenced by an eclectic range of music of all genres.
Her album "VENT" is centred around waulking songs – ancient women’s work songs which were sung for hundreds of years by women in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Laura studied these songs to adapt them for the fiddle, immersing herself in the Scottish archives and working with friend, tradition bearer and one-woman-ceilidh Rona Lightfoot.
JOSIE DUNCAN + BAND
Josie Duncan is an award-winning singer, songwriter and composer from the Outer Hebridean Isle of Lewis. Steeped in the language, stories and songs of her island home, Josie brings a rare authenticity and emotional depth to contemporary folk music. With a voice described as “intensely beautiful” (FATEA), she bridges tradition and innovation with effortless grace.
Josie’s songwriting, both in English and Gaelic, carries a rare honesty – weaving together timeless melodies and intimate lyrics that speak of place, people and belonging.
