"FORWARD LOOKING, STYLISTICALLY ADVENTURESOME AND MUSICALLY WELL EXECUTED, IT CHALLENGES RECEIVED NOTIONS OF IRISH TRADITIONAL MUSIC PURITY…" NEW YORK ECHO
At the crossroads of a new movement in Irish music, NOTIFY breathes new life into their music and song, with "a musical tapestry that ranges from soft melodies to crashing crescendos".
Centred around the wizardry of Concertina player and electronic sound Designer Pádraig Rynne, the band is anchored by Cillian King on Guitars & Vocals, Eoin Walsh on Electric Bass, Davie Ryan on Drums and Cormac McCarthy on Piano and Keyboards.
The band delivers an evocative repertoire of original melody compositions and songs, produced with sensitive electronic overlays and inventive arrangements that are "cinematic in scope" (New York Echo).
NOTIFY seamlessly fuses a deep knowledge and respect for musical tradition with forward thinking innovation in a tasteful way that connects with audiences worldwide. The formation of musicians from backgrounds in Jazz, Traditional Irish, Electronic, Pop and Funk music has naturally established a system of balance that instantly draws listeners to the music.
In 2015, NOTIFY signed with world famous American Jazz label Ropeadope. They are currently in studio recording their new music with a release date to be announced shortly for 2016.
"Rynne forms Notify into a raffish, lateral-thinking delight. 1980s funk intersects with freewheeling improv to often startling effect, with the concertina proving its mettle as an able dealer in a world where groove is king."
