FREE taster workshops!

Celebrating our 3rd Birthday in style with a stunning gig and a series of FREE arts events.

Three years in and if music alone were considered then the Duncairn is more than fulfilling its billing as one of Ireland’s leading music venues with thousands of happy gig-goers treated to world-class entertainment.

But the events staff who beaver away in the renovated church want so much more than to entertain the masses, they want to spark nothing less than a creative revolution within the city’s confines by providing the necessary skills to those masses and more.

With that burning ambition in mind and to mark three years since the doors of the venue were opened, a special concert will be held on Saturday night featuring Ye Vagabonds and David Keenan.

And that is only one of highlights of what’s planned for the big anniversary because the weekend will also be dedicated to showcasing the full range of workshops and skills that are available to learn under the Duncairn’s roof.

This will take the form of taster sessions where the artists, craftsmen and craftswomen will demonstrate and share their talents as well as being on hand so that all attending can try their hand at creating their own piece of art.

Workshops over the two days range from arts and crafts, painting and drawing, photography, paper quilling to ceramics, sewing and even fashion design.

Workshops are also available for children.

And the best bit? They are all free. So why not come along and see what we have to offer.

So let us, help you to discover your creative talent, everyone has one!!

The tasters will be available on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June, 11am - 2.30pm.

As if all of that was not enough, one of our now legendary Big Sunday Breakfast Sessions has also been organised as part of the anniversary celebrations.  So if you just want to come along for a coffee and some food while you read the papers and listen to up-and-coming musicians, be our guest!
